Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to use a travel advisor?

Every advisor has different pricing. If you’re booking your accomodations through me, I do not charge to build an itinerary, coordinate transfers, book excursions, etc. If you are only wanting an itinerary the price is $25/day, or $150/week.

Are hotels more expensive if I use a travel advisor?

Nope! If you book through a third party search engine (like Expedia or Priceline) they get a small commission when you book through them. If you book through me, I get that small commission instead. Actually, hotel prices are often cheaper with me because my host company is a preferred partner with so many brands.

Why do people use travel advisors?

The first reason is I can save you money on your trip. I can find you the best hotel prices. I can often offer hotel perks as well, such as complimentary room upgrades, spa credit, welcome beverages, free breakfast, etc.

The second reason is I’m a travel expert! I have years of personal travel experience. If you are booking somewhere I haven’t been, I have a wealth of insider resources from my host company to ensure I can customize the perfect itinerary for you.

Who is your host agency and what does that mean?

My host agency is Fora. A host agency is the company I partner with. Fora is a large, prestigious travel agency that has connections with hotels, DMCs, cruise lines, and many other avenues around the world. This means I have access to their preferred partnerships, discounts, insider resources, trainings, and customer support which allows me to offer incredible value to my clients!

What is the difference between a travel advisor and a travel agent?

No difference! “Travel agent” tends to be older terminology. The days of a travel agent working from a brick and mortar building selling your parents cruises are over. The terminology has simply shifted to “travel advisor” to reflect and updated concept of what it means to plan travel and how we service clients.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No contract necessary.

What if I don’t need accommodations, I only want help planning my trip and creating an itinerary?

That’s great! In this scenario, I charge a fee up front. The cost is $25/day, or $150/week. This charge does not apply if I am booking accomodations for you.

Do you book cruises?

I sure do! I am a preferred partner for many cruise lines and can often get you a fantastic deal with VIP perks.

You booked the perfect vacation for me, where can I leave a review?

Love it! I will send you an email at the end of your trip for a review of my service as well as a review of your accommodations. Additionally, word of mouth is the best way to grow my business and I appreciate your referrals to friends and family!

Are you able to accomodate specific requirements, such as handicap accessibility or dietary restrictions?

Absolutely! I personally have dietary restrictions so I understand the importance of finding options that are able to accommodate. I pride myself in making travel accessible for everyone.
